With the help of my UPM 91 batchmates, particularly Ninoy - we started UPM's official Urban Search and Rescue program.   I'm proud that as of mid-2012, we have 7 boats, a number of accessories, and 2 batches of trained Rescuers!  And Growing!!!
We'll continually build our capacity and capability to augment our government rescue forces in times of major calamities - flood, earthquake, volcanic eruptions, maybe even alien invasion or zombie attack! :) hehe

This is the 'fake' poster which we later edited to 'Kayak Para sa Kabataan' (hehe).  a group of 12 UPM paddlers set off and circumnavigated the Taal volcano island (35km/7hrs) for the benefit of school kids living in the island itself.

We organized the first unofficial TNF100 to 'prove it can be done' (we did), and to make it more meaningful - we appended a 'cause' component benefiting Khyte Foundation (helping kids with cancer).
Another worthwhile project that I'm proud of :)

(a) Mock-up design of souvenir postcard - sadly, we didn't push thru with this due to lack of funding, sigh... But it's a nice idea anyway :)

Elbrus Climb for a Cause fund was used to build "reef extension" (reeflet installation), and marine buoy deployment - part of Bauan Conservation project. Picture: volunteer divers getting ready to take some underwater actions (me 3fr)... Posted by Hello

A volunteer scuba diver assembling type-2 reeflet (or probably just posing for a picture). There are ~20 reef modules deployed in this sandy-bottom area infront of the host resort, Portulano in Bauan, Batangas. Posted by Hello
